WHAT IS BREATHWORK?

YOUR BREATH IS THE GATEWAY TO YOUR ENERGETIC + INTUITIVE HEART

Like yoga, breathwork is a term that describes many different types, lineages and patterns of breathing that have different effects on the body. Some forms of breathwork are designed for present moment awareness and stress reduction, some for performance and system activation, and othersare designed to unlock your energetic potential, facilitate transformation and open you to new levels of energetic consciousness.The breathwork styles you will find here are the latter.

Breathwork is a beautiful and transformative self-healing practice that can help bring you out of your overthinking mind and into your body in a supportive way. It helps to align you more deeply with your intuitive heart, untether you from the imprints you’ve embodied and that have kept you stuck until now and open the way for big transformation. Your breath is truly miraculous!

WHAT MAKES SOULBODY BREATHWORK DIFFERENT?

My approach to breathwork is gentle, supportive and heart-centered, yet facilitates BIG transformation.

I am trained and certified in 2 different styles of ACTIVE BREATHWORK: The first, an activating 3-part, transformative style of breathing. If you have followed me for a while, this is the breathwork I have studied since I began and that you know me for. The second style of breathing is a feminine, nurturing and integrative style of breathwork called conscious connected breathwork, where we breathe in a circular pattern.

Both styles of breathwork are powerful forms of self-healing that connect you more deeply to your body, move stuck energy and emotions and open the portal to your heart’s intuitive wisdom. While the experience of breathwork is unique to each participant, you will leave feeling more embodied, heart-centred and connected to your authentic self.

WHAT IS BREATHWORK?

The short answer, it’s breathing. Like yoga, breathwork can refer to many different different forms, lineages, and patterns of breathing. Each is designed to have different effects on your body, physical or otherwise. Breathwork can be calming, activating, or healing, depending on the style or intention behind the practice.

WHAT IF I’VE NEVER DONE BREATHWORK BEFORE?

Breathwork newbies are my favorite! Whichever session you choose to attend, you will be fully guided + supported by me. It is my intention to create a safe and sacred space for you to meet yourself where ever you are that day and to feel held (virtually)while in session. WHY WOULD I PRACTICE BREATHWORK?

Breathwork will help you peel back the layers you've used to protect yourself and help you bare witness to your true essence. Whatever you are facing, be it stress, anxiety, fear, overwhelm, loss of direction, grief, anger or joy, breathwork will help you find clarity and certainty through heart connection. You will leave feeling connected, grounded and embodied.

WHAT STYLE OF BREATHWORK DO YOU TEACH?

I have fully certified to facilitate breathwork healing session that follow either a three-part pranayama style of breathing and conscious connected breathwork. The 3-part pattern has you taking an inhale into the belly, a second inhale into the heart and exhale, all through the mouth. Conscious connected breathwork is a circular style of breathing.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM A SESSION?

Everybody’s experience with breathwork will be different but this practice will help you come more fully into your heart and invite you to create space to hear your heart's wisdom. Some experiences will be physical, some emotional, and some spiritual or transformational. The beautiful thing is YOU ARE IN CONTROL the who time.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Breathwork is a personal journey, what you experience will vary. Common benefits include: Clear stuck energy, move thru limiting beliefs, strengthen connection to intuition, heal stored trauma, inspire creativity, open heart to new possibility, balance emotions + energy, increase relaxation + clarity, reduce stress + anxiety.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH BREATHWORK

I walked into my first breathwork session expecting a typical meditation session. What unfolded had, nothing short of, changed my life. I’ve spent the last several years ‘doing the work’. But, of all the healing modalities I’ve tried, breathwork has been the most raw, transformative, and profound. That first session was like 10 years of therapy rolled into a 1 hour session. I was more clear on who I was after that short breathing journey than of all the time and money I had spent seeking.

Through breathwork I have peeled back layers of conditioning, I’ve released beliefs of not enough-ness, I’ve healed….deeply healed. I had moved through painful aspects of my divorce that were deep inside my body, that I didn’t even know I was holding on to. I healed for my mother, my grandmother, and I had the most honest conversation wth my heart that I’ve ever had. I found truth. My Truth.

I’ve gone through the spectrum of emotions from anger, fear, resentment, disappointment, forgiveness, pain, delight, lightness, clarity, joy, bliss, and so much more. 

Breathwork has helped me see my self and to embody myself more fully. It has helped me to connect to the inner wisdom and guide me to complete clarity.  And, that is a gift that is too good not to share. I began my journey to of studying breathwork in 2018 and am a forever student to the practice - to my last breath, if you will.
